Commemoration

Commemoration is the act or practice of preserving and expressing the memory of a person, event, or community through rituals, objects, places, or records.

Collective memory: Shared representations of the past that shape a group's identity and understanding of history. Commemorative practices turn selected memories into shared accounts of the past.
Remembrance Day: An annual observance honoring military personnel who died in war, especially in Commonwealth countries. Its ceremonies and symbols make wartime loss a recurring public memory.
