Compton Mackenzie

Compton Mackenzie (1883–1972) was a Scottish novelist, playwright, and broadcaster whose works include the coming-of-age novel Sinister Street and the comic novel Whisky Galore. He also co-founded the Scottish National Party.

Sinister Street: A 1913–1914 novel by Compton Mackenzie following Michael Fane from childhood into young adulthood. This long coming-of-age novel established Mackenzie's reputation and drew on his experience of English public-school life.
