Concert pitch

Concert pitch is the reference tuning standard used to coordinate instruments in an ensemble. It specifies the sounding pitch assigned to a written note, often using A4 as a tuning reference.

A440: A tuning standard that sets the frequency of the musical note A4 to 440 hertz. It is the most widely used modern reference frequency for concert pitch.
Johann Heinrich Scheibler: A German silk manufacturer and acoustics researcher who developed a tuning fork-based pitch-measuring method. His measurements helped establish standardized reference pitches in nineteenth-century Germany.
