Political constitutionalism : An approach that relies chiefly on political institutions and public accountability to control government power. It emphasizes political checks where legal enforcement by courts is limited or contested.
Election law : The rules governing elections, voting, political campaigns, and the selection of public officials. Constitutional rules establish democratic institutions and protect political participation.
French Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen : A 1789 declaration setting out principles of liberty, equality, popular sovereignty, and legal rights. Its principles helped shape modern constitutional rights and declarations of popular authority.
