Copper(I) chloride

Copper(I) chloride is an inorganic compound with formula CuCl, composed of copper in the +1 oxidation state and chloride ions. It is a white solid that is sparingly soluble in water.

Copper(I) oxide: Copper(I) oxide is an inorganic compound with formula Cu₂O, containing copper in the +1 oxidation state. It is another common copper(I) solid, formed when copper(I) chloride reacts with hydroxide.
Sandmeyer reaction: The Sandmeyer reaction replaces an aromatic diazonium group with a halide or another substituent using copper salts. Copper(I) chloride helps replace diazonium groups with chlorine on aromatic rings.
