Cosmic horror

Cosmic horror portrays humanity as insignificant before vast, indifferent, or incomprehensible forces. It creates dread through limits on human knowledge and power rather than relying only on physical danger.

Cosmicism: A philosophical outlook that treats humanity as insignificant within an indifferent universe. This outlook supplies cosmic horror’s defining vision of humanity’s place in reality.
