Cricket ball

A hard ball used in cricket, traditionally made with a cork-and-string core and a stitched leather cover. Its weight, seam, and condition shape how it moves when bowled and how it behaves when struck.

Cricket: A bat-and-ball sport in which two teams take turns batting and fielding. The ball’s design and use are defined by cricket’s laws and style of play.

Seam: A joined line where two pieces of material meet. The raised stitched seam helps bowlers make the ball deviate after pitching.
Reverse swing: A form of swing bowling in which an older ball curves against the direction expected from its polished and rough sides. Uneven wear can make the ball move sharply at high speed.
