Cypriniformes

Cypriniformes is an order of freshwater ray-finned fishes that includes carps, minnows, loaches, and suckers. Its members generally lack teeth on the jaws and instead have pharyngeal teeth in the throat.

Cyprinidae: A large family of freshwater fishes that includes carps, barbs, and many minnows. This family contains many familiar members of the order, including carps and true minnows.
Common carp: A large Eurasian freshwater fish widely raised for food and introduced across the world. It is a prominent cultured and invasive cypriniform species.
