Czechoslovak Socialist Republic

The official name of Czechoslovakia from 1960 to 1990, when it was a socialist state in Central Europe under Communist Party rule.

Czechoslovak coup d'état of 1948: A February 1948 seizure of power that established Communist Party dominance in Czechoslovakia. It began the uninterrupted communist rule that defined the republic.
