Normandy landings

The Allied amphibious invasion of German-occupied Normandy on 6 June 1944, opening a western front against Nazi Germany during the Second World War.

Operation Neptune: The naval and amphibious assault phase of Operation Overlord, launched on 6 June 1944. It carried the assault troops and supplies across the English Channel to Normandy.
