Dál Riata

Dál Riata was a Gaelic kingdom spanning northeastern Ireland and western Scotland, centered on Antrim and Argyll from about the fifth to ninth centuries.

Scoti: Scoti was a Latin name used for Gaelic-speaking peoples associated with Ireland and, later, Scotland. The name connects Dál Riata’s Gaelic population with the later name of Scotland.
Cenél nGabráin: Cenél nGabráin was a ruling kindred of Dál Riata associated with Kintyre and the Scottish mainland. Its leaders supplied several of the kingdom’s prominent kings.
