Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit

Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit (1686–1736) was a German-born physicist and instrument maker who developed accurate mercury-in-glass thermometers and the Fahrenheit temperature scale.

Ole Rømer: Ole Rømer was a Danish astronomer who devised an early temperature scale and influenced Fahrenheit’s calibration. Fahrenheit adapted Rømer’s scale while developing his own temperature system.
Mercury-in-glass thermometer: A thermometer that measures temperature through the expansion of mercury in a sealed glass tube. Fahrenheit refined this instrument to produce stable, finely graduated readings.
Fahrenheit scale: A temperature scale that places water’s freezing point at 32 degrees and boiling point at 212 degrees under standard pressure. Fahrenheit’s name is now most closely associated with this scale.
