Personifications of death are human or humanlike figures that embody death as a force, event, or supernatural being. Their forms and roles vary across cultures and traditions.

Grim Reaper: A skeletal figure in a hooded robe who carries a scythe and represents death in European-derived imagery. This is the familiar personification in which death arrives as a skeletal reaper.
