Demon

A supernatural being commonly regarded as malevolent or harmful. Demons appear in religious traditions, folklore, and literature, with roles and traits that vary across cultures.

Demonology: The study or doctrine of demons and their activities. It organizes beliefs about demons that otherwise vary widely between traditions.
Ancient Mesopotamian religion: The religious traditions of ancient Sumer, Akkad, Babylonia, and Assyria. Its protective and harmful spirits shaped later Near Eastern accounts of supernatural beings.
Supernatural: That which is understood to exist beyond or outside the natural world. Demons are classified as supernatural beings rather than ordinary creatures.
