Development economics : The branch of economics studying low-income economies and policies intended to improve living standards. It provides economic tools for analyzing growth, poverty, and policy choices.
Amartya Sen : An Indian economist and philosopher whose work on welfare, famine, and freedom influenced human development thinking. His capability approach redirected attention from income toward substantive freedoms.
