Digital publishing is the production and distribution of books, periodicals, and other content in digital formats. It encompasses both digital editions of print works and content created specifically for electronic media.

Electronic book: A book-length work distributed in a digital file designed for electronic reading. E-books are a prominent format for publishing complete works digitally.
Online magazine: A periodical published on the internet, sometimes alongside a print edition. It adapts magazine publishing to screens, links, and frequent updates.
Project Gutenberg: A digital library founded by Michael Hart to distribute public-domain books electronically. Its early text files demonstrated large-scale access to digitized books.
