Dino Buzzati

Dino Buzzati (1906–1972) was an Italian novelist, short-story writer, journalist, and painter, known for fantastical fiction and the novel The Tartar Steppe. He joined the newspaper Corriere della Sera in 1928 and worked there for much of his life.
