Disco

Disco is a dance-oriented popular music genre built around steady beats, prominent bass, orchestral textures, and studio production. It emerged in the 1970s from Black, Latino, and gay club cultures.

Four-on-the-floor: A drum pattern that places a bass-drum beat on every quarter note in a measure. Its steady kick-drum pulse anchors disco’s danceable rhythm.
