Doggerland

Doggerland was a low-lying region of the southern North Sea that connected Britain to continental Europe during the last Ice Age. Rising seas submerged it after the glaciers retreated.

Last Glacial Period: The most recent interval of repeated glacial expansion, ending about 11,700 years ago. Its lowered sea levels exposed the land that became Doggerland.
Eustatic Sea-Level Change: A change in global mean sea level caused by changes in ocean-water volume or the capacity of ocean basins. Global sea-level shifts controlled when Doggerland was exposed or flooded.
