Dogme 95

Dogme 95 was a Danish filmmaking movement founded in 1995 that promoted minimalist production rules called the Vow of Chastity. Its films sought to foreground story and performance by restricting cinematic techniques.

Vow of Chastity: A ten-rule filmmaking manifesto that restricts production techniques to emphasize story, actors, and setting. Its restrictions were Dogme 95’s central practical expression.
