Dong Zhuo

Dong Zhuo was a Han dynasty general who seized control of the imperial court in 189 CE, deposed Emperor Shao, and installed Emperor Xian.

Later Han dynasty: The Eastern Han dynasty, which ruled China from 25 to 220 CE. Dong Zhuo's seizure of power accelerated this dynasty's final collapse.
Emperor Shao of Han: The Han emperor who briefly ruled in 189 CE before Dong Zhuo deposed him. Dong Zhuo removed Shao and replaced him with the younger Emperor Xian.
Lü Bu: A powerful Han-era general renowned for his horsemanship and shifting political loyalties. Dong Zhuo adopted Lü Bu as a son before Lü Bu joined the plot to kill him.
