Dream imagery

Dream imagery is visual material that evokes the transformations, discontinuities, and associative logic commonly attributed to dreams. It appears in art, film, literature, and other forms of representation.

Dream: A sequence of thoughts, sensations, and perceptions experienced during sleep. Dream imagery draws on the visual and associative experiences reported during dreams.
Surrealism: An artistic and literary movement that sought to express unconscious thought and challenge rational convention. Surrealist artists made dreamlike transformations central to their visual practice.
