Droseraceae

Droseraceae is a family of carnivorous flowering plants that includes sundews, the waterwheel plant, and the Venus flytrap. Its members capture prey with specialized leaves and absorb nutrients from it.

Drosera: A genus of carnivorous plants, commonly called sundews, whose leaves bear sticky glandular tentacles. This large genus accounts for most species in Droseraceae and gives the family its familiar name.
Flypaper trap: A plant trap that catches prey on a sticky leaf surface. Sundews use this trapping mechanism to hold prey with mucilage-covered tentacles.
