Dungeons & Dragons

Dungeons & Dragons is a tabletop role-playing game in which players portray fantasy characters and collaboratively shape adventures, with one participant serving as Dungeon Master.

Dungeon Master: The participant who describes the world, portrays nonplayer characters, and adjudicates rules in a Dungeons & Dragons game. This role presents situations and resolves uncertain outcomes while players control their characters.
Gary Gygax: American game designer who co-created Dungeons & Dragons and helped establish its early publishing and play culture. His work with Dave Arneson brought the first edition to publication.
Ed Greenwood: Canadian writer and game designer who created the Forgotten Realms setting, later adopted for Dungeons & Dragons. His setting became one of the game’s best-known fantasy worlds.
