DuPont

DuPont is an American materials and specialty-products company founded in 1802 as a gunpowder business. Its research and manufacturing helped bring synthetic materials such as nylon and neoprene into widespread use.

E. I. du Pont: Éleuthère Irénée du Pont was a French-American chemist who founded the DuPont gunpowder company in 1802. He established the family business that became DuPont.
DuPont Experimental Station: The DuPont Experimental Station is a corporate research campus established near Wilmington, Delaware, in 1903. It institutionalized the research that generated major DuPont products.
