East Malaysia

East Malaysia is the part of Malaysia on Borneo and nearby islands, comprising the states of Sabah and Sarawak and the federal territory of Labuan.

Sabah: Sabah is a Malaysian state occupying the northern part of Borneo. It is East Malaysia’s northeastern state, with a history distinct from Sarawak’s.
British North Borneo: British North Borneo was a British protectorate and later crown colony covering much of present-day Sabah. Its administration preceded Sabah’s entry into Malaysia.
