East Timor

East Timor, officially Timor-Leste, is a Southeast Asian country occupying the eastern half of Timor and nearby islands. Indonesia occupied it from 1975 until its independence in 2002.

Portuguese Timor: The Portuguese colony that occupied the eastern half of Timor until 1975. Its abrupt decolonization left a power vacuum before Indonesia invaded.
