Econometric Society

The Econometric Society is an international scholarly organization founded in 1930 to advance economic theory and quantitative methods. It supports research and exchange through journals, meetings, and professional honors.

Ragnar Frisch: A Norwegian economist who helped establish econometrics and shared the first Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences. He helped found the Society and coined the term “econometrics.”
Econometrica: A peer-reviewed economics journal founded in 1933 and published by the Econometric Society. The Society’s flagship journal gave quantitative economic research a dedicated international venue.
