Edna Ferber

Edna Ferber (1885–1968) was an American novelist, short-story writer, and playwright whose fiction portrayed social change and diverse communities in the United States.

Show Boat: A 1926 novel by Edna Ferber about life along the Mississippi River and a family of theatrical performers. This novel made racial injustice and changing river life central to Ferber’s best-known story.
