Édouard Glissant

Édouard Glissant (1928–2011) was a Martinican writer and philosopher whose work developed ideas of creolization, Relation, and the right to opacity.

Creolization: The ongoing creation of new cultural forms through contact among distinct traditions. Glissant made unpredictable cultural mixing a central alternative to fixed ideas of identity.
