Eleventh Dynasty of Egypt

An ancient Egyptian dynasty that rose from Thebes during the First Intermediate Period and reunified Egypt under Mentuhotep II, inaugurating the Middle Kingdom.

First Intermediate Period of Egypt: A period of political fragmentation between Egypt’s Old and Middle Kingdoms, conventionally dated to about 2181–2055 BCE. Its competing regional powers formed the setting in which the Theban dynasty rose.
