Knowra Elias Lönnrot Elias Lönnrot Elias Lönnrot (1802–1884) was a Finnish physician and philologist who collected oral poetry and compiled it into the Kalevala, Finland’s national epic.
Kalevala : A Finnish epic compiled by Elias Lönnrot from oral poetry and published in two editions, in 1835 and 1849. Lönnrot shaped his best-known work from the poems he collected.
