Eora

Eora is a collective name commonly used for Aboriginal peoples of the Sydney region. Its use reflects a diverse set of communities rather than a single unified precolonial polity.

Dharug people: An Aboriginal people whose Country includes much of western Sydney and surrounding areas. Dharug communities are among the peoples associated with the broader Eora name.
British colonisation of Australia: The establishment and expansion of British rule across the Australian continent beginning in 1788. British settlement at Sydney Cove initiated sustained colonial disruption of Eora communities.
