Epic film

An epic film is a feature film built around a large-scale, extended narrative with broad historical or social scope, often realized through elaborate production.

Epic poetry: A long narrative poem recounting the deeds of heroes and events central to a culture. The film form inherits its name and expansive heroic storytelling from this older tradition.
