Eric Clapton
Eric Clapton is an English guitarist, singer, and songwriter whose work spans the Yardbirds, Cream, Derek and the Dominos, and a long solo career.
Cream: A British rock trio formed in 1966 by Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, and Ginger Baker. Clapton’s power-trio years fused blues improvisation with hard rock.
J. J. Cale: An American singer-songwriter and guitarist known for a laid-back style blending blues, country, and rock. Clapton recorded Cale’s “After Midnight” and “Cocaine,” helping bring his songs to wider audiences.
British blues: A British music movement that adapted American blues through local performers, bands, and recording scenes. Clapton became a leading guitarist in the movement’s 1960s generation.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: A museum and hall of fame that recognizes influential figures in rock music. Clapton was inducted three times: with the Yardbirds, Cream, and as a solo artist.

“Tears in Heaven”: A 1992 Eric Clapton song written after the death of his young son, Conor. The song became one of Clapton’s best-known recordings and won three Grammy Awards.
Jimmy Page: An English guitarist, producer, and Led Zeppelin co-founder who also played with the Yardbirds. Page shared Clapton’s Yardbirds background but built a heavier, riff-centered sound with Led Zeppelin.
