Marxist historiography : Historical writing that analyzes societies through class relations, material conditions, and conflicts over production. Hobsbawm used historical materialism to explain social change across centuries.
The Age of Revolution: Europe 1789–1848 : Hobsbawm’s 1962 history of the political and industrial transformations from the French Revolution to 1848. It presents the dual revolution as the making of modern bourgeois society.
