Ernie Pyle

Ernie Pyle was an American journalist and war correspondent whose World War II columns portrayed the daily lives and hardships of ordinary soldiers.

Bill Mauldin: An American cartoonist whose World War II cartoons depicted the hardships and frustrations of ordinary soldiers. Like Pyle, Mauldin made the ordinary infantryman central to Americans’ understanding of the war.
The Washington Daily News: A Washington, D.C., newspaper published from 1921 to 1972. Pyle worked there as a columnist before becoming a war correspondent.
