Ethylbenzene

Ethylbenzene is an aromatic hydrocarbon with formula C₈H₁₀, consisting of an ethyl group attached to a benzene ring. It is used chiefly to produce styrene.

Ethylbenzene dehydrogenation: An industrial reaction that removes hydrogen from ethylbenzene to produce styrene. This is the principal route from ethylbenzene to its major commercial product.
Polystyrene: A thermoplastic polymer made by polymerizing styrene. It is a major material produced from styrene derived from ethylbenzene.
