Eucalyptol

Eucalyptol, also called 1,8-cineole, is a naturally occurring monoterpene oxide found in eucalyptus oil. It has a camphor-like aroma and is used in medicines, fragrances, and flavorings.

Monoterpene: A terpene built from two five-carbon isoprene units, usually containing ten carbon atoms. Eucalyptol belongs to this ten-carbon class of natural products.
