Exile literature

Exile literature is writing produced by authors forced or compelled to leave their homeland, often under political pressure. It explores displacement, loss, identity, and life between cultures.

Exile: Prolonged separation from one’s homeland, often imposed by political authority or conflict. The condition that shapes the writers and themes gathered under exile literature.
Ovid: A Roman poet whose works include poems written after Emperor Augustus banished him to Tomis. His elegies from banishment became an influential ancient model of writing away from home.
