Persian cat : A long-haired domestic cat breed known for a rounded head, short muzzle, and calm temperament. The Exotic Shorthair shares the Persian’s characteristic body and facial type.
American Shorthair : A North American cat breed descended from working cats and selected for a sturdy build and dense coat. Early attempts to introduce its silver coat into Persians helped inspire the Exotic Shorthair.
Cat grooming : Routine care of a cat’s coat, skin, claws, ears, and teeth. The short coat usually mats less than a Persian’s, but still benefits from regular brushing.
