An eye examination assesses vision and eye health using clinical tests and instruments. It can detect refractive errors, eye diseases, and signs of broader health conditions.

Visual acuity test: A test that measures the sharpness of vision at a specified distance. It provides a basic measure of how clearly each eye sees.
Comprehensive eye examination: A broad evaluation of vision and eye health using multiple tests and clinical procedures. It combines component tests into a preventive and diagnostic assessment.
