Ezekiel (prophet)

Ezekiel was a Hebrew prophet and priest exiled to Babylon in the sixth century BCE. The biblical book bearing his name records his visions, symbolic actions, judgments, and promises of restoration.

Babylonian captivity: The deportation of Judeans to Babylonia, especially after the Babylonian conquest of Jerusalem in the sixth century BCE. Ezekiel’s prophetic career unfolded among Judean deportees in Babylonia.
