Fall of the Western Roman Empire

The collapse of Roman imperial rule in the western provinces, conventionally dated to 476 CE, when the last western emperor was deposed.

Crisis of the Third Century: A period of political instability, civil wars, economic strain, and invasions that shook the Roman Empire from 235 to 284 CE. Its instability exposed weaknesses that later western emperors struggled to contain.
