Fatah

Fatah is a Palestinian nationalist political movement founded in the late 1950s. It became the dominant faction in the Palestine Liberation Organization and has led the Palestinian Authority since its establishment.

Yasser Arafat: Yasser Arafat was a Palestinian political leader who chaired the Palestine Liberation Organization and led Fatah for decades. He co-founded Fatah and became its defining leader.
Fatah Central Committee: The Fatah Central Committee is the movement’s principal executive leadership body. It directs the movement between meetings of its broader congress.

Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine: The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine is a Palestinian Marxist-Leninist political and armed organization. Its Marxist program offered a leftist alternative to Fatah’s broader nationalist platform.
Second Intifada: The Second Intifada was a Palestinian uprising against Israel that began in 2000 and involved extensive violence. Fatah factions took part, complicating the movement’s diplomatic and governing role.
Palestinian diaspora: The Palestinian diaspora comprises Palestinians and their descendants living outside historic Palestine. Fatah’s founders organized in exile, especially among Palestinians in the Arab states.
Fatah Congress: Fatah Congress is the movement’s general assembly, which elects leaders and sets political direction. Its periodic sessions renew leadership and define Fatah’s internal program.
