Behenic acidBroader topic: Repeated two-carbon additions provide a route to its 22-carbon chain.
Omega-3 fatty acidRelated: Elongation helps convert alpha-linolenic acid into longer-chain omega-3s.
Alpha-linolenic acidRelated: Elongation lengthens ALA-derived chains on the route to EPA and DHA.
Myristic acidRelated: It can extend myristic acid into longer fatty acids such as palmitic acid.
Lignoceric acidRelated: Repeated elongation produces very-long chains such as lignoceric acid.
