Feces

Feces are solid or semisolid material expelled through the anus after passage through the digestive tract. They contain water, microorganisms, undigested food residues, and substances eliminated from the body.

Large intestine: The final major section of the digestive tract, where water and electrolytes are absorbed and feces are formed. It compacts intestinal contents and absorbs water before feces are expelled.
Peristalsis: Wave-like contractions that move contents through the digestive tract. Peristaltic movement carries intestinal contents toward the rectum.

Sewage treatment: Processes that remove contaminants from wastewater before its release or reuse. Treatment systems manage fecal waste and reduce pathogens entering the environment.
