Feodor I of Russia

Feodor I ruled Russia as tsar from 1584 until his death in 1598. His death without a surviving heir ended the Rurik dynasty’s rule and helped precipitate the Time of Troubles.

Ivan the Terrible: The first tsar of Russia, who ruled from 1547 to 1584 and expanded and centralized the state. Feodor inherited the throne from his father, Ivan IV.
Irina Godunova: The wife of Feodor I and sister of Boris Godunov, whose failure to produce an heir left the succession unresolved. Her marriage to Feodor connected the tsar’s household to the Godunov family.
