Folk music : Music transmitted and reshaped through community practice, often outside formal institutions. Filk borrows folk melodies, acoustic performance, and traditions of communal singing.
Worldcon : The annual World Science Fiction Convention, run by fans in a different location each year. Worldcon gatherings helped establish recurring spaces for science-fiction song-making.
