Einsatzgruppen : Mobile SS and police units that carried out mass shootings, especially in occupied eastern Europe. Their shootings were a principal killing method before and alongside extermination camps.
Nuremberg Laws : The 1935 Nazi laws that stripped Jews of German citizenship and prohibited marriage between Jews and people of German or related blood. They institutionalized racial exclusion years before systematic mass murder began.
Adolf Hitler : The leader of Nazi Germany from 1933 until his death in 1945. His regime’s antisemitic ideology and authority framed the genocidal policy.
